Certain sections of the concrete floor of the warehouse and logistics centers can sag for a variety of reasons. Thanks to URETEK technology, it is possible to restore the required floor level and prevent the appearance of cracks in the walls without freeing up space.

The concrete floor of supermarkets, warehouses and large storages perceives daily loads, both from the regular impact of loaders and other equipment, and because of the load on the shelves with goods. Exceeding the permissible loads on the concrete floor, as well as other reasons, such as displacement of the soil of the base or erosion and weakening of the soil due to a breakthrough of the water supply, sewage or groundwater, can lead to subsidence of floors in certain areas.

Such problems cause not only inconvenience in the operation of the facility due to changes in the horizontal position of shelves and racks, but can also affect especially important objects, such as loading platforms of the warehouse or the floor of the store’s refrigerator compartment.

The danger of subsidence

Owners of warehouses and retail premises are often delayed in repairing a sagging floor due to the fact that its restoration threatens not so much with direct financial costs, but also with a loss of profit. Indeed, when restoring the floor by traditional methods, a long downtime is guaranteed.

Unfortunately, such negligence can result in disastrous results. The subsidence of the foundation and floor and the change in the horizontalness of the shelving often leads to the appearance of emergency and unsafe sections on the territory of the facility. A situational repair of retail space using stands or stops that help return the racks to a horizontal position often has a sloppy and unsightly appearance that acts as anti-advertising and also indirectly leads to loss of profit.

Floor leveling technology

In order to eliminate the subsidence of the concrete floor, it is necessary to strengthen the soil and align the position of the lower floor slabs. This can be done without land work and without the use of heavy equipment. Deep Injection and Slab Lifting geopolymer injection technologies stabilize the position of concrete floor slabs by injecting with special geopolymer resins that gain strength in just 15 minutes and increase the bearing capacity of the soil to 10.6 MPa.

To perform injections, it is required to drill several standard holes with a diameter of up to 16 mm in concrete, which are subsequently easy to seal. Injection tubes with a diameter of 12-14 mm are inserted into the hole, through which injection is carried out directly. All equipment for the work is located in a car mobile complex, which can be located at a distance of up to 120 m from the place of work. The material is fed through hoses that can be placed in the aisles between the shelves without the need to release the latter from the goods. A quick hardening time of geopolymer resins allows you to work at night, when the premises are idle in a natural way. If the injection is performed during working hours, due to the mobility of the equipment used, it is not necessary to decommission the entire warehouse, but it is enough to block only one or two rows with goods for the duration of the work.

Advantages of the URETEK Method

URETEK geopolymer injection technologies allow real-time control of the process of restoring the floor level and raising the foundation and sagging slabs of the lower floor to a height of 20 cm.
